The need for anti-spam products continues to rise as the range of email threats broaden, it has been claimed.
According to John O'Shea, vice president of networking product marketing at hardware distribution group Tech Data, IT security providers have to protect their customers from an ever-growing number of attacks.
"Spam-borne malware and cybercrime continue to increase. It's important that resellers have access to advanced, comprehensive security solutions," he added.
Jim Garrity, vice president of sales and marketing at email security firm SECNAP, commented that value-added resellers are likely to drive the sales growth of anti-virus technology.
Last week, studies by IT industry analyst Frost & Sullivan found managed email security market is evolving to combat growth in cybercrime and match the development of mobile devices.
The group went on to say the advent of mobile devices such as laptops and smartphones with email and web-surfing capabilities has led to an increase in data security breaches.
