The rise in social networking and mobility trends is presenting firms with disaster planning and business continuity challenges, it has been revealed.
Research carried out by telecoms giant AT&T indicates businesses are increasing their technology investment and efforts to meet these tests despite the economy.
Bill Archer, chief marketing officer at AT&T Business Solutions, commented that the current economic environment means that internet connectivity must not be disrupted and therefore disaster recovery efforts are more important than ever.
Mr Archer went on to say the executives surveyed by the group stated that having a plan in place, increasing backup systems to ensure no data loss and having multiple means of communication available are the three major business continuity lessons they have learned.
This week, studies by IT services provider Hewlett Packard suggested data centers across Europe are dangerously close to exceeding their limits.
